Codename Crime and Gangstar Mirage City at a glance
| Name or identifier | What it means now |
|---|---|
| Codename Crime City | An earlier name seen in test-era videos and third-party listings. |
| Codename Crime-Vice Open World | The working title used before the Gangstar Mirage City release branding. |
| Gangstar Mirage City: Online | The current official Google Play and App Store name. |
| com.levelinfinite.gst | The current official Android package ID. |
| Level Infinite | The publisher shown on the current official store listing. |
| Gameloft | The owner of the Gangstar license and the named official licensor. |
Is Codename Crime Vice Open World the same game?
Yes. Current search and storefront records connect the old Codename Crime name to Gangstar Mirage City through the same Android package identity. The release version now appears under the Gangstar name and uses Gangstar Mirage City: Online as its store title.
An old video or download page can still use the former name. That does not make it a separate current game, and it does not make an old APK the correct release build.
Is Codename Crime City still on Google Play?
Google Play now presents package com.levelinfinite.gst as Gangstar Mirage City: Online. Searching only for the former title may surface old videos, cached pages, APK mirrors, or test information instead of the current official listing.
- Open Google Play from the official game website or the verified store link.
- Confirm the package ID is com.levelinfinite.gst.
- Confirm the listing name is Gangstar Mirage City: Online.
- Confirm the publisher is Level Infinite and the description says Officially licensed by Gameloft.
- If the listing is unavailable, check the account country and device compatibility instead of installing an old test APK.
- Open the Android download guide — Current package, version, requirements, and installation checks.
- See available countries — Regional Android and iOS availability information.
- Check MOD APK and MOD Menu claims — How to avoid altered or incorrectly signed packages.
Codename Crime City and Gangstar Crime City are different names
Gangstar: Crime City is the first released Gangstar game from 2006. Codename Crime City and Codename Crime-Vice Open World were later working names connected to the project that became Gangstar Mirage City. A page about the 2006 game does not describe the current Mirage City app.
- See the complete Gangstar game timeline — Distinguish the 2006 Crime City release from the later Codename Crime project.
What happened to the old Codename Crime build?
Test-era footage remains useful for recognizing the project, but menus, graphics, missions, balance, regions, account rules, and available features can change between a test build and the released game. Follow the current store listing and current in-game labels when an older video differs.
A test account or old installation should not be assumed to transfer to the current release unless an official account notice confirms it. Reinstalling from the official store also keeps the app on the current update path.
