Choose a car by mission role

| Use case | Prioritize | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Story missions | Handling, durability, easy replacement | A fragile show car with unknown repair cost |
| Police escape | Acceleration, braking, narrow-road control | Top speed without cornering control |
| Street race | Track-specific speed and stability | Assuming one car wins every route |
| Heist getaway | Seats, durability and predictable handling | Choosing only by rarity |
| Free roam | Comfortable camera and steering | Over-investing before core upgrades |
A repeatable vehicle test
- Use the same route, traffic setting and weather where possible.
- Record standing acceleration to a fixed landmark.
- Time a complete lap rather than a single straight.
- Count collisions and restarts.
- Repeat the route at least three times.
- Record version, upgrade level and vehicle condition.
Upgrade order
Handling and braking improvements can save more mission time than a small top-speed increase. Upgrade only a vehicle that already suits a recurring task, and keep enough currency for weapons, ammunition and business progression.
Why there is no single fastest-car winner
Top speed alone does not measure acceleration, braking, cornering, collision recovery, or durability. Compare two cars on the same route, at the same upgrade level, and with the same start method. For missions and city driving, use the car that finishes the whole route reliably rather than the one that wins only the longest straight.
- Identify a Commuter vehicle — Use the Commuting type label for modify and sell objectives.
